Function plugs for manifold cavities

Cartridge function plugs for manifold cavities: they seal the cavities the circuit does not use or give them a function, such as a 1/4" BSP port.

Page maintained by the Gazzera Srl engineering team, updated .

In a power pack’s central manifold every cavity has a job: housing the relief valve, a check valve, a solenoid valve. When a cavity is not needed, or only has to give the circuit a port, a function plug is fitted instead of the valve: a cartridge with the same thread as the valves (3/4"-16 UNF, or M20x1.5 for the VMDC35 cavity) that seals the cavity or gives it a precise function. The T0 series includes the T0A2, T0A3, T0A4, T0C1, T0C2 and T0VM plugs, some with a 1/4" BSP port, for example for a pressure gauge.

The right plug is part of the circuit logic, not just a cover: on the G32 manifold, for example, left-hand pumps can only be fitted with the T0A3 and T0C2 plugs in cavity 0. That is why plugs are chosen together with valves and modular elements, using the cavity table in the catalogue, and on Gazzera units they are already in the bill of materials: the same manifold becomes different circuits just by changing cartridges and plugs.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What are function plugs for?

They are fitted in the manifold cavities instead of a valve: they seal the cavities the circuit does not use or give them a function, for example a 1/4" BSP port for a pressure gauge.

What thread do they have?

The same as the cartridge valves: 3/4"-16 UNF for standard cavities and M20x1.5 for the VMDC35 relief valve cavity, which takes the T0VM plug.

How do I choose the right plug?

It depends on the manifold and the cavity: the cavity table in chapter 4 of the catalogue shows which plugs and valves fit each one. On our units the correct plug is already in the bill of materials; for a manifold sold on its own, we specify it in the quotation.
